Franchise Opportunities
(just kidding... sort of)
We're committed to both Milwaukee (which is the best city on the entire planet), and our employees. As a result, we long ago ruled out conventional franchises, where people who already have access to a lot of money get more of it, and spread a corporate brand with no local ties to other communities. So what are we plotting instead?
Empowering our staff with progressive employee ownership
Nobody knows the way that we do things (and why we do them) better than our own employees. They're the source of our best ideas and inspiration, are all committed to our mission and values, and work hard to bring our community together.
Although we pay a living wage to all employees, the majority of our employees do not, unfortunately, have the hundreds of thousands of dollars sitting around that one would need for collateral on loans for a franchise. To assist them, we're committing over the next several years to help fund new locations which are owned (progressively) by our employees themselves. They will start out owning a small part, then gradually buy out a larger share of the location as we all succeed together.
We're supporting this transition by reimbursing our employees for educational expenses for business, management and accounting classes, to ensure the success of their new locations.
These opportunities will only be made available to individuals who have worked with us for at least one year and demonstrated exceptional leadership and problem-solving. So, if you want to be on board, the best way to do that is to apply for a career here. Not to brag, but we were #1 on the Milwaukee Business Journal's list of Best Places to Work for a reason.
