Thursday Night Axe League Reservation
This is a $20 deposit ($18.94 plus tax) for one person for our Thursday Night Axe League. This gets you access to each of the seven regular league nights! The total cost for this league is just $90 plus tax, so you'll owe only $75.04 (to be paid any time before play begins) after this non-refundable deposit. See flingmilwaukee.com for additional details and announcements.
You have some league questions to axe? We're pretty sharp; let us try. |
Is this super competitive? I just started / have never actually thrown before. Our Thursday league is open to (and fun for) all skill levels! It is an officially-sanctioned NATF league, so that our best throwers will qualify to move on to regional and national championships, but most of our throwers are just here to throw some axes, drink a beer or two, and have a good time. That said, if you're throwing competitively, or looking to explore that possibility, we're the only venue in the area that can get you qualified for competition.
If you're not quite sure, just stop by for the introductory session! We'll teach you how to throw (or give you some pointers and let you have some practice), buy you a drink, and you can get a feel for it before the first official night the next week. Do I need my own axe? Not at all! You're welcome to use the axes that we have on-site, and on Thursdays we'll only make regulation axes available. We have a wide selection of hatchets available, and we understand that not everyone throws the same way. We'll work with you to find which of our blades works the best for your unique throwing style, and let you try out others, too. Can I bring my own axe? Probably! The axe needs to be fully covered in a bag when you bring it past the front counter (since other patrons in our entertainment complex might be a little creeped out by an axe-wielding you walking around). We have Fling embroidered drawstring and storage bags available for purchase at the front desk if you need one, otherwise any old gym bag will do, ideally with a blade guard also attached. Our axe coaches will inspect your axe for safety before throwing, although you assume the liability for its use, and we ask that you keep the axe in the cage enclosure for the duration of your stay. Since this is an official NATF league, here are the requirements for an official axe. (Essentially it needs to be wooden handled with a normally-weighted head). We'll see you (and your axe!) soon. What if I miss a week? No worries! Even our best Flingers miss a week or two. Just let your coach know any time before play starts, and they'll reschedule that week's matches to future weeks, no problem! |
